Smoke Free Policy Reaches It's Next Phase Posted on Apr 3rd, 2019 The next phase of the transition plan for The Hammond North to become a smoke-free building is about to begin. The Resolution includes tobacco and marijuana smoke. To prepare for this, we wanted to communicate some reminders of what to expect.
![]() Below is the paragraph from the Resolution regarding the second phase:
The designated smoking areas are located at the picnic table on the south end of the parking lot going out the front door, out the LL exit near the loading dock, 25 feet from the door, and on the LL level of the garage on the southeast corner. Always use the provided smoker’s poles to dispose of cigarette butts. Please do not throw cigarettes butts on the ground! The only indoor exception would be for residents who filed with the Board a petition for an exception due to permanent mobility disability by Jan. 1, 2019 and had their petition granted. If, after March 1, 2019, a resident reasonably believes that someone is smoking anywhere in the Condominium Building, that resident must submit their complaint, along with any relevant details evidencing their reasonable belief, in writing to the Association’s managing agent. Upon receiving a complaint and the written details giving rise to the complaint, the Association’s managing agent will investigate the matter using reasonable means to do so. The third and final phase of the transition plan will begin on June 1, 2019. Any resident who fails to abide by the Resolution after that date shall be subject to enforcement assessments to be levied against the Unit in which the resident resides. Relevant information and forms are available in the office or from our website hammondnorthcondos.com under the Resident Login tab. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the management office. Resources The Hammond North Smoking Resolution Quit Smoking Resources from the CDC |
