Information
In the 1960s, The Hammond North Condominium was conceived by a prominent Cincinnatian named Kenneth Hammond, designed by a noted architect and then constructed to be the most luxurious apartment building in Greater Cincinnati. 
 
The 19-floor high-rise building sits on 29 acres of the former La Boiteaux Family estate, which previously had donated almost twice that amount of land in 1938 to the city to be an adjacent nature preserve. 
 
Original plans for The Hammond North called for twin buildings, one north and one south, but the cost was so great (only the finest materials were used) that the second was not built. A great lawn was prepared instead. The rest of the 29 acres has been left as natural woods with trails.
 
In 1981 the building was converted to condominiums. Since then, every effort has been made to keep The Hammond North in first-class condition.

Management

The Hammond North's Vision Statement

Our vision is to keep the Hammond North as a first-class, energy-efficient, financially sustainable condominium,surrounded by woods, offering many amenities, and where owners work together to increase property values.

The Hammond has a staff of 7 people who are professionally managed by Towne Properties. 
 
The staff includes a full-time Building Manager and Customer Service Administrator, a maintenance and custodial crew of five -- one of whom is always on-call to deal with any emergencies. 
 
The Condominium Association is operated under state law including a legal declaration and by-laws. 
 
A board of directors of seven resident owners is elected for two-year terms by the owners. There are scheduled meetings of the board with owners annually. The board also holds monthly management meetings to which owners are welcome.

Benefits

Animal Friendly
Owners are permitted to have up to two pets per household, only one of which may be a dog. Dogs living at the Hammond North can be no more than 30 pounds fully grown.
 
Car Valet Service
For a nominal monthly fee, front entrance staff will bring your car to the front door whenever you wish and will bring it back to the garage when you return..
 
Construction
The very finest building materials went into the construction of The Hammond North. The structure is made of reinforced poured concrete with a brick façade. Unlike many high rise condominiums, The Hammond balconies are substantial and blend beautifully with each condo. Hallways are unusually wide. There are spacious closets and storage inside each condo. A large storage bin is assigned to each unit.
